As news of Morgan Schneiderlin’s potential summer transfer to Manchester United broke on Sunday evening, there has been an inevitable reaction from supporters on social media.

French Twitter account InfoSports+ claimed the Red Devils have moved ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign the France international this summer.

The Southampton star said last week (via Mail Sport) that he would only leave the St Mary’s for a club playing in the Champions League next season and it now appears Louis van Gaal is close to completing a deal for the Frenchman.
Schneiderlin’s reputation has risen considerably over the last 12 months and he played a pivotal role in the Saints’ magnificent season which ended with a top-seven finish in the Premier League and Europa League football next year.
United and Arsenal fans have responded on Twitter and it’s safe to say both sets of supporters have contrasting views on the speculation:
