Benzema has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United in recent weeks as both clubs look to strengthen their respective attacking options ahead of the new season.

The Frenchman could be available when the transfer window opens next month following reports in Daily Star Sport that new Los Blancos boss Rafael Benitez is lining up an audacious swoop for Manchester City hit-man Sergio Aguero.

However,  Griezmann, who plays for Madrid’s city rivals Atletico, insists his compatriot will still be at the Santiago Bernabeu on September 1:

“He’s a veteran at Real Madrid, he’s doing very well and I can’t see him leaving,” he told Spanish publication Marca (via Express Sport)

“He’s had some leg problems this year, but he’s very strong mentally. He’ll be back to his best next season,” Griezmann added.

This news will be a huge blow for the Premier League duo as signing Benzema would instantly turn either one into title challengers next year.

The 27-year-old is one of the best strikers in European football and scored a respectable 15 goals in 29 La Liga apperances this season.
