According to the Star, Rodrigo has made a big impression on Manchester United scouts, going on the claim that the team is close to a deal for the 20 year old.

Manchester United have also shown an interest in another Internacional player, the attacking midfielder Eduardo Sasha.

Rodrigo made his debut in 2012 with Internacional, the same team for which he has been playing since the age of twelve.

During his first two years in the first division Rodrigo didn’t see many minutes, but everything changed in 2015. During this year he has been key to win Internacional’s Gaucho Championship title, while in the Copa Libertadores he has played every minute of his side’s last six matches, including their last 16 win over Atletico Mineiro and their quarter final win over Santa Fe.

Internacional play Tigres from Mexico in the semis in July.
