The Spanish giants are believed to have offered the 22-year-old a €6m-per-year deal, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The talented midfielder looks set to be one of the most sought-after talents in the upcoming transfer window, with both La Liga giants as well as Premier League heavyweights Arsenal believed to be interested in his signature, according to The Sun.

While Real have made the first move, Barcelona may still return with an offer, although the reigning Spanish champions risk being hamstrung by the fact they cannot register players in La Liga until January 2016.

Luis Enrique has admitted that he is a fan of the player, and his opinion of Verratti will have improved even further following the Italian’s impressive performance against Barca in the Champions League, according to Le 10 Sport.

Verratti, however, has recently confirmed his desire to remain with PSG and win the European Cup with the French giants, according to the French source, although he did admit that he was flattered to have been linked to some of the continent’s major sides.
