Guillem Balague: Liverpool star Raheem Sterling’s reputation is deterring clubs from signing him

The Citizens are keen to keep the 20-year-old out of the clutches of local rivals and Premier League title competitors Manchester United. To this end they are willing to pay the £50m transfer fee that the Merseyside club will likely demand for their young star.

It is looking more and more likely that the Reds will be losing the England international, who won the European Golden Boy award for the best under 21’s player on the continent this season. This is despite a campaign where the Anfield outfit failed to live up expectations and the player himself only managed eight goals and eight assists in 47 appearances.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested in the forward according to the Daily Express, but neither seems to have made their interest known to Liverpool as of yet. However, the youngster may still want a move to the capital, having lived there before moving to Merseyside.
