According to the Mexican newspaper site Record, this is not the first time the Italian club have tried to sign Chicharito. They claim that now more than ever Lazio are trying to close a deal, especially after the negotiations to get the French striker from Olympique Marseille fell through.

Claudio Lotito, Lazio’s president, believes that despite of having Miroslav Klose in their squad for one more year the club needs another striker and that Chicharito would be a perfect fit.

It means Chicharito’s future is still uncertain. Real Madrid decided not to sign the player and he reportedly doesn’t have a place at Manchester United for as long as Louis van Gaal is the manager.

During his time in European football the Mexican striker has scored a total of 37 goals in 102 appearances for Manchester United and 7 goals in 23 games with Real Madrid.
