This is despite the 18-year-old being yet to make a first team appearance at the King Power stadium, and hardly having the experience to challenge Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs for the left-back spot at the Emirates.

However, there is some promise, with the teenager being a regular in the Foxes’ Under 21’s side, and playing for England Under 19’s. Even so it is almost guaranteed that if signed he would be one for the future, in much the way the January transfer of Krystian Bielik won’t be felt until he develops as a player.

Academy director Andries Jonker is apparently behind this drive to get in more of the best young players at the North London club. The Gunners are known for their ability to create talented footballers and give them a chance in the first team . However, if they are to challenge for the Premier League next season then they should concentrate on bringing in signings that can improve their first team now, rather than in a few years.
