According to Wharf, the striker wants to wait to see who will be appointed before he makes a decision about his future and a possible move to a Premier League club.

During last season with the French club, Gignac scored 21 goals in 37 appearances in Ligue 1, but he is now a free agent. Gignac is reportedly also wanted by Southampton, Newcastle and West Brom.

Gignac debut was in 2004 with Lorient, but since 2010 he has been a key player for Olympique Marseille. He was called up to the national team for the first time in 2009 and since then he has made 19 appearances and scored 5 goals.

Marseilles wanted to keep the player, but he insisted on a move.
