Both London giants are chasing the signature of £30m-rated Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, who looks increasingly likely to be on his way out of the struggling Serie A club after this season.

Having finished in a disappointing fifth in the Italian top flight, Napoli could now lose some big names after failing to secure Champions League football, with Higuain undoubtedly their biggest star at the moment.

The Argentine international, formerly of Real Madrid, has been linked with Arsenal in the past, and it is thought that the Gunners have already made an approach for him, only for the Naples club to ask for more money.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are also contenders as they seek to strengthen their attack next season due to the injury problems suffered by both Diego Costa and Loic Remy this term.
