Arsenal are no longer interested in Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin according to the Mail on Sunday. This comes a day after the Daily Telegraph reported that they were keen on a £18.2m move for AS Monaco ace Geoffrey Kondogbia.

The Gunners have been put off by the £25m fee that has been quoted by the Saints. Manager Arsene Wenger doesn’t think that his squad need any major additions in order to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

However, the Telegraph believe that the North London side are still interested in a move for Kondogbia, who will be all too familiar to Arsenal fans for his star turn in their 1-3 defeat to Monaco back in February. The 22-year-old scored and was also vital to their defensive efforts from the principality based side at the Emirates.

The France international may be superfluous for the Gunners if he signed though. The emergence of Francis Coquelin since returning from a loan at Charlton in December has been impressive, meaning defensive midfield isn’t the problem area it once was for the North Londoners.
