The 16 year old Norwegian made his debut in the final La Liga game of the campaign, becoming the youngest player to play for the club, but is unlikely to feature prominently in Rafa Benitez’s plan in 2015/16.
Therefore Real Madrid will look to loan the midfielder out and Ronald Koeman hopes to tempt the youngster into moving to the south-coast.
Southampton started this season with a bang and for a time Koeman’s side were even spoken of as potential Champions League qualification contenders, but it was not to be.
That said, the Saints secure a Europa League berth and may well be able to lure top talents to the club this summer.
