The England Under 21 international is high up on the Magpies transfer wish-list as they seek to strengthen their squad after a disastrous campaign but they won’t land Bamford on the cheap.
The talented youngster netted 19 goals whilst on loan to Middlesbrough last season but may struggle to force his way into Jose Mourinho’s first team set-up, and therefore a move away from the West London outfit may be the best option with regards to his career progression.
There is also the alternative option of a loan switch, which may suit all concerned, as it would hand Bamford some much needed top tier experience and could lead to a permanent switch to St James’ Park in the long run.
