The Old Trafford side are set for another busy summer of transfer spending and whilst Real Madrid want to secure 24 year old De Gea in a straight cash deal, boss Louis van Gaal has his sights set on Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane.

Of the quartet of talents linked with Man United it would perhaps be fair to say that Cristiano Ronaldo is the least likely to be leaving the Spanish giants this summer.

Winger Gareth Bale has endured a tough season but has been at pains to state his desire to remain at Real Madrid which leaves two, more realistic, makeweights in any deal that would see De Gea move back to his hometown.

Benzema was a player former boss Carlo Ancelotti showed a lot of faith in and the French forward may now be unsure of his future under Rafa Benitez.

Louis van Gaal may see the former Lyon man as an ideal man to spearhead his Man United attack whilst young centre-back Raphael Varane would certainly provide a strong option at the back.
