The Reds have already agreed to sign Danny Ings once his Burnley contract ends, but they seem to be interested in bringing in a more high-profile forward as well.

This is after a season in which their current crop of forwards struggled to make an impact.

Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert, and Fabio Borini all struggled for form in the last campaign, and Daniel Sturridge was sidelined with injuries for most of the season.

Lacazette certainly looks like he could make a difference at Anfield, having just come off the back of a great campaign. The 24-year-old scored 29 goals in 35 appearances to help his team push PSG all the way in the Ligue 1 title race.

As a result, the eventual top-flight champions are also interested in the striker, and the Merseyside club would have to fight them off in order to get a transfer through.

Valued at around £25 million, the France international would mark a change in Liverpool’s summer. So far they have signed Ings and James Milner, both on free transfers. to go through when their contracts end. However, a big move such as what Lacazette would be could be what is needed to help them challenge for the top four again.
