According to ESPN, the 36 year old player, who lost the Champions league final last weekend against Barcelona, is planning to leave Juventus and emigrate to the MLS to play with New York FC.

There were rumours about Pirlo having an offer from Sydney FC and he also had a contract with Juventus until 2016 but it seems that he will now definitely be leaving early to move state-side.

It looks like his last game with Juventus was last weekend’s final. He left the pitch in tears after losing to Barcelona thanks to goals from Luis Suarez and Neymar.

Pirlo seems to be following the steps of David Beckham, who was the one who opened the door for players emigrating from Europe to the MLS, Thierry Henry, Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane have all also made the jump.
