Liverpool will join Chelsea in the race to sign AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao on loan in this summer’s transfer window, as they also eye signings up front.

The Reds are keen on pulling off this surprise move, with a number of top clubs showing an interest in Falcao despite his awful season on loan at Manchester United this year.

The Colombian international only scored four goals in all competitions, but remains highly regarded and is being offered a stay in the Premier League by both Chelsea and Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers’ side could certainly do with more up front, despite the signing of Burnley’s Danny Ings already being announced this summer.

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool will now try to sneak in ahead of Chelsea to sign the 29-year-old, who would undoubtedly be an upgrade on players like Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert if he did regain his best form.
