Man City failed with a bid of around £30m but are ready to make a second offer though are not ready to meet Liverpool’s £50m valuation.

Sterling seems likely to leave Anfield after making it abundantly clear he wishes to move and there will be no shortage of interest in the talented youngster.

Man City have their sights set on a number of summer targets and want to bring in new addition early in the transfer window, ahead of their pre-season tour of Australia.

The 20 year old has already amassed 124 appearances for Liverpool, netting 11 goals last term, and has 15 national team caps to his name but is still not a player Man City are willing to splash the cash on.

Liverpool may be forced to consider offers below their valuation or face the possibility of retaining a player who clearly wants to leave.
