Chelsea transfer target insists he can still be great despite poor spell at Manchester United

The 29-year-old is currently on £265,000 a week, and the Blues aren’t willing to match this. They are also telling the principality based side that they are only interested in a loan deal which has a far lower fee involved should they choose to buy than the £43 million the Red Devils were quoted.

This is very understandable after the terrible season the Colombia international endured at Old Trafford last time round. He scored just four goals in 29 appearances, failing to give the cutting edge that manager Louis van Gaal had been looking for. This led to United deciding to not take up their option to sign the forward.

However, Blues boss Jose Mourinho is still keen on Falcao, perhaps looking for a replacement for the departing Didier Drogba. The striker could act as a serviceable back up for first choice centre-forward Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge.
