The 21 year old Croatian looks set to become the first summer signing made by Brendan Rodgers with a £16.6m deal having been agreed by the two sides.

This has led to 4000 Nerazzurri fans signing a petition in protest at the likely loss of another of their top young talents to the Merseyside outfit, Brazilian Philippe Coutinho having taken the same route.

Roberto Mancini has his work cut-out trying to steer Inter Milan out of their recent slump and it’s surprising that the former Man City boss would consider selling such a hot prospect as Kovacic.

Brendan Rodgers has successfully landed James Milner and Danny Ings from Man City and Burnley thus far this summer.
