Turkish sports paper AMK [via Goal] report that the domestic heavyweights have made the Brazil right-back a top priority this summer.

Gala have made the acquisition of a new right-sided full-back one of their key ambitions this summer, with Cote d’Ivoire Emmanuel Eboue having already left the club. The ex-Arsenal man has been heavily linked with a move back to the England, according to the Sunday People [via the Mirror], with the likes of Burnley, Queens Park Rangers and Leicester City all linked to his signature.

Tarik Camdal struggled to settle at the Turk Telekom Arena following his move from Eskisehirspor in 2014, and after a series of disappointing performances last term, does not look like a long-term solution for Hamza Hamzaoglu’s side.

Should Camdal join Eboue in the departure lounge, Sabri Sarioglu will remain the club’s only player for this position—making the addition of Rafael a necessity.

The 24-year-old endured a tough campaign with United last season after falling out of favour with Louis van Gaal. He made only 10 appearances in the Premier League, with only six of them as starts.

Beyond that, he only featured once—a sole outing in the FA Cup.

United continue to be linked with Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne, whose arrival would surely confirm the end for Rafael [ESPN].

Galatasaray have several Brazilians on their books. Alex Telles and Felipe Melo are currently on the playing staff, while national-team legend Claudio Taffarel is the club’s goalkeeping coach.

Like United, Cim Bom will be competing in the Champions League next season, having won their 20th Turkish title this term.
