A study was conducted to see which of the 20 Premier League teams last season had the most passionate fans on Twitter and the results do not make good reading for Chelsea supporters.

The Blues were ranked bottom following results that were carried out by creative communications agency Shine Communications.

The alternative table also places last season’s runners-up Manchester City in the bottom three, while Liverpool and Arsenal are placed 15th and 17th respectively.

By contrast, Burnley, who were relegated to the Championship, were found to have the most passionate fans.

Only one team that finished in the top six find their way into the top ten and that club is Manchester United, which is little surprise given their global popularity.

Despite winning the league and cup double, it would appear that fans of the West London outfit are just not the passionate type and even manager Jose Mourinho complained about the lack of noise at Stamford Bridge during the last campaign [via Telegraph Sport].

The full table can be found via Mail Sport’s official website.
