PSG weigh up two top midfield targets.
Paris Saint-Germain could still consider signing Manchester United attacking midfielder Angel Di Maria this summer if they miss out on Juventus’ Paul Pogba.
The Ligue 1 champions are keen to add a high-profile signing to their squad this summer, but may only be able to make one transfer of that kind, with Pogba and Di Maria the main targets being considered, according to the Daily Express.
The Argentine international has struggled at Old Trafford in his first season at the club, despite previously looking like one of the best playmakers in the world in his time at Real Madrid. Given that a number of high-profile players have been unable to make the transition to English football, it may be that PSG feel he could still prove a valuable signing as they look to continue building a side capable of challenging for the Champions League.
Still, it seems that Pogba remains the priority target for the French giants, though they are sure to face plenty of competition for his signature from a host of other top European sides, with the Express mentioning treble-winners Barcelona as contenders as well.
It remains to be seen if United would consider selling Di Maria after just one season, though it could be that a good enough offer would tempt them into letting the 27-year-old leave after his initial struggles in the Premier League. Meanwhile, the club have also brought in a ready-made replacement in Memphis Depay, while the likes of Juan Mata and Adnan Januzaj also provide good options in that part of the pitch.
