Ramos has two years left on his current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu and reports [via Metro Sport] have claimed talks of an extension have stalled in recent weeks.

This led to sensational claims from Barcelona presidential candidate Jordi Majo  that the Los Blancos vice-captain had been offered to the Catalan giants [via SkySports].

It’s understood that Ramos was unhappy about the lack of a denial from the Real Madrid hierarchy in regards to those claims and is now learning English ahead of a potential move to Old Trafford this summer.

There are suggestions that Ramos is fueling talk of a transfer to United in order to secure better terms at the club that he has been at for the last decade.

Since signing for Madrid from La Liga rivals Sevilla in 2005, Ramos has developed into one of the best defenders in world football and he was an integral part of the Spanish team that dominated international football between 2008 and 2012 as they won three major tournaments in that period.

He has also been a consistent performer at club level and was crucial in their successful attempt to land ‘La Decima’ (10th Champions League title) in the 2013-14 campaign as he scored the equaliser in injury-time to force an extra 30 minutes as they finally overcame bitter rivals Atletico 4-1.

Should United complete the signing of the 29-year-old then it will be one of the biggest transfers in recent history and could elevate the club into title challengers next season.
