The 28 year old Colombian international is already the subject of talks with Liverpool and the Anfield side have agreed to meet the striker’s £21.5m release clause.

Louis van Gaal is keen to bring in a fresh central striking weapon and has set his sights on Bacca and with Colombia having now been knocked out of the Copa America one imagines the push to sign the La Liga marksman will only grow.

Bacca has netted 49 goals in two seasons in Spain and played a key role in helping Sevilla to securing back to back Europa League titles and has the physical stature to prove a real threat in the Premier League.

Louis van Gaal opted to send Radamel Falcao back to AS Monaco after an ineffective loan spell and veteran Robin Van Persie struggled with form and fitness last season and as such there is certainly scope for a striker signing to boost the Old Trafford attack.
