Arsenal transfer news
Southampton could be close to letting Arsenal target Morgan Schneiderlin leave the club this summer as they look to bring in Marseille starlet Giannelli Imbula as his replacement.
The young Frenchman has impressed in Ligue 1 in recent times and has attracted some interest from Chelsea in the last few months, though it could now be that he will be on his way to the St Mary’s Stadium instead.
Southampton will need a new defensive midfielder if Schneiderlin leaves, and it now looks likely that the 25-year-old will be allowed to join Arsenal for around £24m, according to recent reports.
The Daily Mail now adds further fuel to that rumour, saying that Imbula is being kept in mind for the Saints as a replacement for their departing star.
