He failed to score or register an assist in the league, but that has not scared off Toffees manager Roberto Martinez and he will continue to monitor the situation ahead of the new campaign.

The Spanish manager was knocked back in his efforts to sign Januzaj during the January transfer window and he could return with another offer at some point during the current window.

The Toffees could face competition from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain as they have been linked with the 20-year-old since the start of the year and had an approach rejected, according to Guardian Sport.

With the arrival of young Dutch winger Memphis Depay, Januzaj could find first-team opportunities limited again next season and a loan move could re-ignite his career.
