BVB sporting director Michael Zorc has revealed that he expects players to leave the Westfalenstadion soon, and the Germany international could be one of those to depart. Last month the Bundesliga team announced that they expect the midfielder to go due to his contract ending next year and the 24-year-old is refusing to sign a new deal, reported Sky Sports.
Back then they were yet to receive an offer for their star player, but it could be that the Red Devils have made their move in the meantime. Even though Gundogan has only one more season on his contract, United are thought to have agreed a £21.5 million fee for the centre-mid.
“We will have players leaving our club this summer,” Zorc said, “There will be some action in the turn of next week.”
This comes after the player made 29 appearances for Dortmund in the last campaign after they stood by him during a long injury lay off with a back problem. He managed three goals and five assists in those games, doing well enough to be recalled to Joachim Low’s Germany squad.
