The 20 year old is expected back at the club’s Melwood training ground on July 6th ahead of their tour of the far-east and Australia, the first game being in Thailand on July 14th.

Man City have failed with two bids for the England international but are readying a third offer for Sterling, who has shunned offers of a new improved deal, leaving his Liverpool future very much in the balance.

Sterling was roundly booed by traveling Liverpool fans during their final game of the Premier League season and the player’s behaviour, and that of his outspoken agent, have left the player to become public enemy number one among the Anfield faithful.

Liverpool have wasted no time bringing in new additions this summer, Brendan Rodgers having already brought in five new signings including Brazilian Roberto Firmino who could be considered a replacement for Sterling.

Sterling bagged 11 goals in all competitions last term.
