The 22 year old has been strongly linked with a summer transfer and Etihad Stadium boss Manuel Pellegrini is confident he will win the race to sign the former Man United man.

The fee for the midfield powerhouse will top the British record £59.7m fee United paid for Angel di Maria last summer and Pellegrini will then look to finally wrap up a move to sign Liverpool attacker Raheem Sterling, having failed with two previous offers for the Anfield star.

City meekly surrendered their Premier League title to Chelsea last season and are keen to bring in new additions that represent a real statement of intent and a push to bring in Pogba and Sterling, two of the most sought after young talents in world football, would certainly do just that.

Pogba has helped Juventus to three successive Serie A titles in his three seasons in Turin and played a key role in the club’s run to the Champions League final last season.

Man City are ready to offer Pogba a massive £200k a week contract to help convince the youngster to return to England.
