The Liverpool legend made the claim that Tottenham midfielder Paulinho would score a total 15 goals in at least one season during his time at White Hart Lane, via Metro.

However, with the Brazilian set to depart North London and move to Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande in a deal worth a reported £10 million [via Telegraph Sport] after scoring just six goals in two full seasons, it is safe to say that Carragher has lost the bet.

Under the terms of the bet, which was revealed by Neville via his official Twitter account, Carragher will now have to do the unthinkable by wearing an United shirt for an entire day.

But Carragher, desperate to avoid the humiliating predicament, attempted to find a loophole in the agreement by posing with two United supporters and posted the image on Twitter and told his Sky Sports partner that it’s the closest he will get to a Red Devils top.

With the prospect of seeing Carragher in a United shirt something many will like to see, is it safe to say that Neville won’t be letting his former rival off the hook so easily?
