Man United will reportedly complete the signing of Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin on Wednesday according to the Sunday Mirror.
The 25 year old has impressed over the past two seasons and has been strongly linked with a summer exit with Arsenal known to be interested in the French international.
Louis van Gaal is keen to bring a strong tackling central midfielder to add steel to his squad with the Dutchman also targeting further summer captures having already brought in Dutch winger Memphis Depay.
Schneiderlin has spent seven years at Southampton, helping the south-coast side climb from League One to the upper echelons of the Premier League, and will be offered his first taste of Champions League action at Man United.
A high-profile move to Man United will also aid his push for a more prominent role in Didier Deschamps’ French national team set-up.
Man United will look to follow up these signings with the successful acquisitions of Ajax keeper Jasper Cillsessen and Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
