According to the Telegraph, Lyon were originally not willing to sell their prized asset this summer; however, after negotiations over a new deal at the Stade de Gerland broke down, the Ligue 1 outfit will welcome offers of around £21m.

The British newspaper state that Lyon’s decision to listen to bids comes after Lacazette demanded an annual salary of £4.5m, which the player and his agent, David Venditelli, feels is deserved given he was key in helping the club to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Venditelli revealed that there have been a number of offers for his client and they won’t be forced into rejecting a lucrative deal, “The offers we’ve had from abroad are very significant in terms of finances,” as quoted by the Telegraph.

“Ultimatums and media pressure won’t change our demands, which OL are aware of.”

The comments of Lacazette’s agent therefore suggest that the player could be open to a transfer this summer if a rewarding offer comes in.

Arsenal and Chelsea, the Express state, may now be considering an opening bid.

The France international scored 31 goals in 40 appearances last season – in a campaign that made the forward one of the most spoken of across Europe – and he could be bringing his goalscoring form to the Premier League.
