Man United: Louis van Gaal adamant that £35m Real Madrid transfer target won’t be sold on the cheap

On Thursday afternoon, the Spain international arrived in the Spanish capital [via AS] with his girlfriend, Edurne Garcia, fuelling further speculation on his possible return to Madrid.

However, in a latest update on the future of the 24-year-old, according to AS, the Spain goalkeeper has been forced to extend the rental agreement on his Cheshire house with Louis van Gaal expecting his current No.1 to report to pre-season training on Monday.

His house was recently put up for sale, as the Spanish newspaper report, but it seems De Gea isn’t optimistic that a Manchester exit will be completed any time soon.

The Times stated earlier in the week that the former Atletico Madrid was desperate to avoid the embarrassment of having to meet up with his Red Devils team-mates following months of speculation that he is wishing for a transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The British newspaper suggested that the emergence of Sergio Ramos’ unhappiness with the La Liga BBVA giants and van Gaal’s subsequent interest in the defender have caused talks between the two clubs to have significantly cooled.

If his transfer isn’t agreed upon soon, the Spaniard could be heading to the USA later in the month where Manchester United will begin their pre-season tour.
