The Spain hitman, who played alongside the Turkish international in La Liga, has thrown his weight behind Jose Mourinho’s potential move for the midfielder.

Costa played alongside both Turan and Brazil international and current Chelsea left-back Filipe Luis at the Vicente Calderon.

“I would really like to be reunited with him [Arda Turan] it would be fantastic because he is a player that makes my job easier,” the striker began, in an interview with Burgun [via Turkish Football].

“Arda, Filipe Luis and I achieved great success together and he really is a great guy.”

The three achieved great success together at Atleti, where they won the Liga BBVA crown in 2014, before advancing to the Champions League final, where they were defeated by fierce rivals Real Madrid.

Turan also won the Super Lig title with Galatasaray in 2008, the Europa League with Atletico in 2012, as well as a whole host of other club honours.

He is also a three-time Super Lig Player of the Year, winning the award consecutively between 2008 and 2010.

The Guardian are just one source to have linked the former Gala star with a move to Stamford Bridge, although the Pensioners are likely to face competition for the 28-year-old attacking midfielder.

Manchester United are also believed to be keen on the player [via the International Business Times], while talkSPORT believe that Barcelona are also interested in his services.
