On transfer deadline day of last season’s winter window, the Egypt international sealed a loan deal to Fiorentina after so far failing to impress at Stamford Bridge – and his form for the Serie A side caught the eye, as he scored nine goals and registered four assists in all competitions.

There had been speculation that the 23-year-old may consider extending his spell at the Stadio Artemio Franchi with his future in west London appearing bleak – with Willian, Eden Hazard and Juan Cuadrado to compete with for a wide position.

However, Salah’s agent has revealed that his client is open to remaining in Italy – but not with Fiorentina [via ESPN].

And in recent developments, Sky Sports report that Viola are now considering legal action, believing that they are entitled to extend the Egyptian’s loan deal by a further season, and have contacted their lawyers to investigate the situation.

Following the reports, Salah’s agent, Rami Abass, has described Fiorentina as “pathetic”, stating that “Salah would like to play for a club with different moral and professional values.”
