Arsenal are being tipped to win the race for William Carvalho‘s signature this summer, with the Sporting Lisbon midfielder and Manchester United target set to move to the Emirates Stadium for £18.2m.
The Portuguese international, who also represents his country’s Under-21 side, has long looked like one of the best young defensive midfield players in Europe and attracted plenty of interest from top clubs.
However, it now looks like Arsenal have stolen a march on their rivals in this move, with Arsene Wenger moving fast to land the talented 23-year-old after missing out on Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.
According to the Metro, Arsenal are closing in on a deal after Carvalho’s impressive performances at the U21 World Cup this summer, in what looks a bargain deal.
