Man United: Louis van Gaal adamant that £35m Real Madrid transfer target won’t be sold on the cheap
Man Utd handed HUGE boost as £35m transfer target’s agent provides exciting future update

The Daily Mail stated earlier in the week that Louis van Gaal was considering a £15m offer for the Goodison Park right-back, but he now may be reassessing his offer.

According to the Daily Star, the Toffees are adamant that the Republic of Ireland international is not available at any price in this summer’s transfer window; however, van Gaal believes that a player-plus-cash deal involving Jonny Evans could be enough to persuade the club to agree to the sale of one of their star players.

Reports suggest that the former Netherlands manager is in the market for a right-back over the summer with midfielder Antonio Valencia currently the club’s first option in this defensive position.

Evans missed a total of 20 games in van Gaal’s first campaign in charge – with 14 as a result of injury and a further six as punishment for being found guilty of spitting on Newcastle United’s Papiss Cisse [via Sky Sports].

The 27-year-old has entered the final year of his Red Devils contract, and while first-team duo Phil Jones and Chris Smalling have recently put pen-to-paper on new deals, the Daily Star state that van Gaal isn’t likely to offer the centre-back an extension; therefore suggesting that he may be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

What’s more, with Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos a top defensive target, as reported by BBC Sport, the Northern Ireland international could be set to spend the next season on the periphery of senior action unless he opts to move on in the coming months.
