Liverpool flop Mario Balotelli is likely to be on his way out of Anfield this summer and has been linked with a surprise move to Premier League rivals Newcastle United.
The Italian international has had a nightmare time on Merseyside so far, scoring only one Premier League goal last season following a £16m move from AC Milan.
It is now widely expected that the former Manchester City ace will make his way back to Italy, with Sampdoria mentioned as potential suitors, though Newcastle have also emerged as possible contenders, according to the Daily Star.
The Magpies are in need of strengthening after fighting relegation last season, but Balotelli would surely be too risky a signing for the club at this stage.
