Marca state that the Spain centre-back has his heart set on leaving the Santiago Bernabeu, but his decision to leave the Liga BBVA giants is not for financial gain.

The Spanish newspaper state that the 29-year-old is uninterested in negotiating a contract extension with Rafael Benitez’s side, believing that it is time to move on from the club he has served for 10 years.

According to the report, Ramos’s relationship with Real president Florentino – and consequently the club – has deteriorated and the defender is concerned that his image with Los Blancos supporters has been damaged beyond repair.

The Red Devils bid £28.6m for Ramos earlier this week [via BBC Sport], but Louis van Gaal may need to seriously improve on this offer with the Daily Mail stating that the former Sevilla star carries a £65m price-tag.

The Merengues’ new manager, Benitez, could be set to lose two immensely influential players in the dressing room in his first summer in charge, as not only is Ramos’s future uncertain in the Spanish capital, but Iker Casillas is also facing an exit in the coming months.

Manchester United’s David De Gea is heavily linked with taking Real’s No.1 spot from his international team-mate [via the International Business Times], and reports from the Daily Mail have suggested that Tottenham may be interested in his signature, while Arsenal, according to the Mirror, could be tempted into making a move, too.
