According to Cadena SER, the La Liga BBVA giants do not wish to sell their vice-captain to the Red Devils this summer, and have offered the defender a new contract worth €7.5m a-season in a bid to tempt him to commit his future to the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, the report suggests that, with Ramos said to want be demanding €10m – a figure that Manchester United are rumoured to be willing to meet – the 29-year-old is likely to reject the offer.

Moreover, the Spanish radio station claim that, while the Spain international believes he should be earning significantly more in Madrid, his desire to leave the club is not simply in his want to increase his finances. Rather, he has grown fed up with the disrespectful treatment he believes he has received from Florentino Perez, and he has decided that he wants to leave the Spanish capital.

The Premier League heavyweights made a bid of £28.6m for the former Sevilla star’s signature earlier this week, as reported by BBC Sport, which is some way off their £65m valuation [via the Daily Mail].

Ramos has made 445 appearances for The Meringues since joining in 2005 – during which time he has won three La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys, one UEFA Super Cup, one FIFA Club World Cup, one Supercopa de Espana, and helped fire the club to their tenth Champions League title.
