The 24-year-old played along Ujfalusi during his time at Atleti, and his old teammate has warned him off joining their local rivals. In two seasons as part of the Rojiblancos first team De Gea made 84 appearances for the side after coming through the youth system at the Vicente Calderon and the fans adored him.

“No, no, no, they are not going to forgive him if he joins Real Madrid,” Ujfalusi claimed, “it’s not going to be easy for him to make this decision.

“It’s also a surprise for me because he’s an Atletico Madrid fan – when he was young his heart was with Atletico Madrid.”

Despite this it seems that a move to the Bernabeu is still on the cards, despite United demanding a record breaking £35 million for the player according to the Daily Express. The ‘keeper will likely be a replacement for Galacticos legend Iker Casillas, who hasn’t been at his best in recent campaigns.

De Gea’s move to Los Blancos could hinge on the Red Devils getting Sergio Ramos to go in the other direction, reported The Guardian. The centre-back is apparently unhappy after contract talks with the Spanish giants stalled, and a move to United could be enticing.
