The Gunners are apparently willing to try all summer to sign the 28-year-old, but it seems that they may not have to do so now. Bianconeri boss Massimiliano Allegri seems to have found someone to take over from the Chile international in his midfield, although the replacement isn’t named in the report.

However, the North Londoners will still have to come up with a huge sum to prise Vidal away from the Old Lady. The centre-mid impressed as Juve won Serie A and the Coppa Italia last season, and he helped them to get to the final of the Champions League where only a defeat to Barcelona stopped an historic treble.

Arsene Wenger could be after a midfielder to partner Francis Coquelin in the middle of the park. The Frenchman was a revelation in the last campaign, but still needs a box to box player to feature alongside him to give balance to the team. This is especially important if Arsenal are to challenge Chelsea for the Premier League title next season.
