The Turkish side have offered the 31-year-old a four-year deal to go to the Super Lig. United are even willing to let him leave for just £5 million just to rid him from the wage bill. However, it seems the player has demanded that they pay him the remaining year on his contract. As the Netherlands international is currently on £250,000 a week, this totals around £12 million.

Not only this, but the former Arsenal man isn’t even sold on actually leaving Old Trafford this summer. He is seeking talks with manager Louis van Gaal before deciding his future, with getting in to the Holland squad for Euro 2016 a priority for the striker.

If the Red Devils do end up paying off the forward and selling him, they will likely need to sign someone to replace him. After Radamel Falcao’s loan ended, Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez are the only other senior strikers left. With the latter being linked away by Eurosport, and 19-year-old James Wilson also being linked with a loan away by the Daily Mirror, they could be even shorter in the position soon.
