Old Trafford side look to do business with Ligue 1 big spenders PSG.

Man United are in talks to sign PSG defender Gregory van der Wiel with the Metro claiming that the Dutch international could move to Old Trafford as part of a swap deal that would see Angel di Maria move in the opposite direction.

Louis van Gaal has been linked with a number of possible signings to help resolve the club’s ‘problem-area’ at right-back with both Dani Alves and Nathaniel Clyne having been previous targets.

Argentine Angel di Maria failed to come close to justifying his £59.7m British record transfer fee last season and is said to be on PSG’s summer transfer radar.

One imagines Man United would demand a big fee for the former Real Madrid man but could elect to accept a tad less if they were to snap up van der Wiel in a part-exchange deal.

Van Gaal knows van der Wiel well from his time in charge of the Dutch national set-up and the 27 year old is apparently pushing for a move to the Premier League.
