The south-coast side have already turned down a £20m bid for the French international but will sell the 25-year-old for around £27m with the tough tackling midfielder keen to make the ‘step-up’ this summer.

When asked if he was planning for next season with Morgan Schneiderlin on board, Koeman stated;

“No. I know the situation. I have spoken a lot with Morgan.”

Schneiderlin watched on last summer as team-mates Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert joined Liverpool whilst Luke Shaw moved to Man United and youngster Calum Chambers was sold to Arsenal.

Having spent seven years at Southampton, helping the Saints climb from League One to the upper echelons of the Premier League, it appears the club is ready to allow Schneiderlin to move on to a side that can help him fulfill his Champions League ambitions.
