According to the Liberty Legion, the Swans hero could sign for NYRB this summer in a deal that might see Matt Miazga going the other way.

The 32 year old midfielder has played for Swansea since 2002, with the exception of one year spent at Sheffield United in 2010. His move to the Blades was a disaster, as he saw four managers in five months and returned to the Liberty Stadium at the end of the season.

He only played seven times last season, with injuries taking their toll for long periods.

It is now understood he would like a new challenge as he reaches the twilight of his career. Recently he was quoted as saying “I want to play here, but if the chances of that happening are limited I will have to look at what options are out there and I have spoken to the manager about that.”

New York are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference.
