The Toffees are looking for a long term replacement for American veteran Tim Howard and Roberto Martinez is thought to have made a £5m offer for Ospina, with this source claiming a deal is ‘likely’.

Arsenal signed Ospina from Nice after he has impressed at the 2014 World Cup finals and the 26 year old replaced Wojciech Szczesny as the club’s first choice starter after the Pole’s error strewn display against Southampton on New Year’s Day.

Ospina was a relatively safe pair of hands throughout the second half of the 2014/15 campaign but the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea appears to have brought his time at the north London club to an end.
