The 30-year-old has seen Mario Mandzukic, Simeone Zaza, and Paulo Dybala all arrive in Turin this summer, and as a result could be on his way out. The striker scored nine goals in 45 appearances last season, and with the Old Lady hoping to repeat the double-winning success of the last campaign next time round that may not be good enough to warrant a place in the squad.

With Harry Kane scoring 32 goals in manager Mauricio Pochettino’s debut season at White Hart Lane it is likely that the former Athletic Bilbao man will feature alongside the 21-year-old if he completes a move. Spurs will be attempting to break in to the top four next term, and a potent forward line will be vital.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will be disappointed to have missed out after struggling to score freely last time round. The loss of Luis Suarez was made worse by injuries to Daniel Sturridge and the terrible form of Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini, and Rickie Lambert last time round. Brendan Rodgers is in dire need of a striker as a result.
