Arsenal rumours

Arsenal and Manchester United look set to compete for the signing of want-away Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain this summer, according to sources in Spain.

The Argentine international, a Copa America finalist this summer, is unhappy with the club’s lack of Champions League football for next season and could be tempted by a move to the Premier League.

Higuain nearly joined Arsenal back in 2013 before eventually opting for Napoli, and a move to the Emirates Stadium could be back on as Arsene Wenger continues to consider him as an ideal addition up front.

United could also do with new strikers as Robin van Persie nears an exit, and will be the Gunners’ main rivals, according to Fichajes.net.
