Torino have confirmed the sale of Matteo Darmian to Manchester United on their official website.

The Serie A side published a brief announcement on their website on Saturday evening, confirming that the right-back had completed his move to Old Trafford.

The player has moved on a permanent deal, although the fee and the exact terms of his contract are yet to be confirmed by either club.

In the statement, club president Urbano Cairo took a moment to thank the right-back for his “seriousness, commitment and professionalism” to the club’s cause.

The club also wished the player ‘the best satisfaction’ with his future endeavours and the ‘new amazing experience’ he is beginning at United.

Darmian arrives at the club as the Red Devils’ second summer signing behind Memphis Depay, although he is expected to soon be joined by Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, with Louis van Gaal looking to tie up his summer business before the side jet off on their preseason tour.
